President’s Message

Hello, Welcome to the website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Omega Omega Chapter. We are glad you have decided to visit our page. The Omega Omega Chapter has a rich legacy of service to the Philadelphia community. The Omega Omega Chapter is the first graduate chapter chartered in Philadelphia, and Alpha Kappa Alpha’s visionary founder Ethel Hedgemon Lyle served as Omega Omega’s first president. On December 10, 2021, the Omega Omega Chapter celebrated 95 years of service to the Philadelphia community. Under the leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reed, the Omega Omega Chapter is Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood. Alpha Kappa Alpha’s 2022 – 2026 International Program focuses on strengthening our sisterhood, empowering families,  building our economic wealth, enhancing our environment, advocating for social justice, and uplifting our community. I encourage you to visit our international website at www.aka1908.com to learn more about Alpha Kappa Alpha’s commitment to Service to All Mankind.

The Omega Omega Chapter’s signature event is the Annual Day of Sharing. The Omega Omega Chapter, in partnership with The 1926 Foundation, Incorporated, annually awards scholarships to Philadelphia high school students and community grants to organizations whose mission aligns with our joint program initiatives. Since the inception of the Annual Day of Sharing, we have awarded over 1 million dollars to local high school students and community-based organizations.

On behalf of the 500 plus members of the Omega Omega Chapter, I thank you for visiting our website. I encourage you to learn more about and support our programs of service. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for upcoming events.

Best Regards,

Charlene M. Collins

President
